Ispmanager 6 lite, pro, host documentation

Versions and update branches

We recommend installing the latest version of the panel that contains its most up-to-date features. However, there are situations which may require installing a specific version. This is why it is important that you understand the differences among the panel versions and update branches and how they are numbered.

Information about the current version and update branches is posted in the changelog section of our website.

Panel versions

The version consists of three numbers separated by dots:

VersionDescription
Main version Updates rarely. The latest main version to date — ispmanager 6 — was released in 2021. The main version contains all currently supported features
Release versionUpdates every 2–3 weeks and contains new features, improvements, changes to the interface, bug fixes etc.
Bug fixUpdates on an ad hoc basis and contains fixes of critical bugs

The most convenient way to keep track of updates is by release version — the releases are numbered consecutively. The list of updates that went into a particular release is available on our website or in the HelpChange log section of the panel.

To learn how to find the current version of your panel, read the article in our knowledge base.

Update branches

There are two update branches:

  • beta — the latest release that contains new features;
  • stable — the stable release that has been tested by our users. It is always numbered with an even number.

Beta and stable are stages that the releases go through. When a new release comes out, it has the beta status. Two weeks later, a new release comes out, also with the beta status. The previous beta then becomes stable (if its number is even) or is incorporated into the following release (if its number is odd). So, there is one stable and two beta releases per month. For example:

04.0918.0909.10
beta6.105.06.106.06.107.0
stable6.104.16.106.0

Choose an update branch

Each update branch has its own repository — beta or stable. The branch determines which repository will be used and which software will be available for use in the panel.

You can select the repository when installing the panel. After it is installed, you can go from beta to stable and vice versa in the panel interface.

If you go from beta to stable, the panel will update when the stable version becomes higher than your current beta version. Until then, installation of any modules will result in an error.
