Migration from ISPmanager 5 to ispmanager 6

Why?

ISPmanager 5 has reached the end of its lifecycle and will no longer receive new updates. Furthermore, technical support will no longer be provided. We recommend that you upgrade to ispmanager 6 to ensure you receive all the latest updates, fixes, new features and 24/7 technical support.

Instructions

  1. Make sure your current server is compatible with the ispmanager 6 system requirements.
  2. If the server does not meet the requirements:
    1. hardware requirements, please contact the server administrator or your hosting provider's technical support team to request a change to the server parameters.
    2. software requirements (in particular, the supported operating system), it will be necessary to migrate to a new server that meets the ispmanager 6 system requirements, following the official instructions for guidance on this process.
  3. If the server does meet the requirements:
    1. Create new backups of your server data;
    2. Connect to the server via SSH;
    3. Download the update script using the following command:  wget http://download.ispmanager.com/upgrade.ispmgr5.sh
    4. Run the update script using the following command: /usr/local/mgr5/bin/core ispmgr -i

The update process will take some time. Its duration will depend on the server performance and Internet bandwidth.

PLEASE NOTE!

If third-party repositories are connected to the server with ispmanager, the update may be interrupted due to their unavailability or the absence of the required packages.

To find out if any repositories are blocking the panel update, execute the following command:

/usr/local/mgr5/sbin/pkgupgrade.sh coremanager

If errors occur, please disable third-party repositories or contact the ispmanager support team.

Once the update is complete, the control panel will be updated to the latest version available for the installed operating system. To verify this, log into the panel or run the following command in the console:

/usr/local/mgr5/bin/core ispmgr -i

Also, in order for the control panel to function correctly following the update, purchase a license for ispmanager 6 and activate it on the server through your personal account.
