OV (Organization Validation) certificates are issued for domains owned by an organization. The certification center checks the information about the company in the online directory of the state registration authority and in various other directories, to ensure that such a company really exists and that the site belongs to it. Such a certificate will contain the legal name of the company.

OV certificates are suitable for online stores and sites offering personal accounts or paid services. An OV certificate cannot be issued to an individual. 

EV (Extended Validation) certificates indicate that a website is of the highest reliability. The validation takes about 10 days and involves manual verification of the company’s information and contact details. Once verified, the contacts are added to the site's certificate. This information is visible to all site visitors by opening the certificate details. 

EV certificates are suitable for large organizations and brands for which reputation is crucial.
