Prefixes for databases and users in ispmanager host

Prefixes for databases and users in ispmanager host

You can now enable prefixes for databases, users, and ftp-user names in ispmanager host. Prefixes are created automatically when databases and users are created, so they are sure to be unique.

This update is useful for shared-hosters as prefixes guarantee that the server has unique database and user names.

Adding prefixes in the ispmanager control panel is disabled by default.

For example, up till now, a shared-hosting user could produce the error "database with this name already exists" when creating his/her own database if there was already a similar database somewhere in the hosting.

Now, such a coincidence is impossible. When each new database or user is created, a unique prefix is automatically added to their names: the creator’s control panel username.

So if a user with the username qwer creates a database called test, the name will be qwer_test

The prefix will automatically appear when the user creates a database

How to enable automatic prefixes

1. Select "Navigation board" → "Panel" → "Policies".

2. Select "Prefix Policy" and check the required checkboxes.

3. That’s it: now all such names on the server will be unique.

The update was released in the 6.112 beta release.
