Development of ispmanager 6 business has ended

What’s going on

We are no longer developing ispmanager 6 business. Support will continue until Q2 2026.

We made this decision for two reasons:

  1. The multi-server nature of ispmanager 6 business means its internal architecture is radically different from the lite family (lite, pro, host). Therefore, business users get new features that appear in the other versions later or do not get them at all.
  2. The product is used by less than 5% of our customers so we cannot hand over development to a separate development team.

Our goal is to provide the best product we can. That's why we decided to stop developing the business version and focus on the lite family – lite, pro, and host.

ispmanager 6 business roadmap

What this means for ispmanager 6 business users

We will halt sales of new business licenses after the release of all the features we plan to migrate from business to ispmanager 6 host. Tentatively, on 31.12.2024. You can renew licenses and buy nodes without restriction.

Business users have the option to switch to ispmanager 6 host with the help of an automatic tool and get all the features of the lite family and business except for multi-server and future product features.

What will appear in ispmanager 6 host:

  • IP address management,
  • reselling functions,
  • user and reseller traffic accounting,
  • a prefix policy,
  • customization of access groups to panel functions for users,
  • other features of ispmanager 6 business.

We plan to release a version change tool for switching from ispmanager business to ispmanager host in the second quarter of 2025. With it, you can switch to ispmanager host on your master and nodes at the same time, without migrating to other servers.

The EOL will come one year after the release of the version change tool. We plan to release it in the second quarter of 2026.

FAQ

Will there be site downtime during the version change?

We will not change any file locations, so the downtime will be minimal. More specific figures will be announced in our telegram channel, blog, and digest before the release of the tool.

Do you need to migrate each node separately?

No, the version change tool works for all nodes and the wizard at once.

Do you need to configure anything manually after the version change?

We plan to set up the version change in such a way that you don't have to configure anything inside the product. However, in-house modules and integrations will have to be updated.

What will happen to in-house modules and integrations?

  • We do not have access to the code base of in-house modules, so they cannot be converted. You will need to reconfigure them manually after migrating to host. We recommend you back them up beforehand and test them out on the lite family.
  • You’ll have to reconfigure your billing integrations if the source business version uses multiple nodes.
  • We will try to save integrations with DNSmanager and IPmanager. We will be able to verify this closer to the release of the version change tool.

Do you need to order a new license when switching versions?

Yes. You will need to order an ispmanager host with IP activation for your master and each node.

Is it possible to pay for the version change yourself?

Yes. To do so, write to help@ispmanager.com or submit a request on the site.

Is it possible to credit a valid business license to a new host license?

Yes, contact technical support – email help@ispmanager.com or create a request in the client area.

Licenses are tabulated as per the remaining subscription balance. For example:

  • If a year is left on your business license, a 15-month host license will be issued.
  • If a month is left on your business, you will receive a host license for one month and 8 days.

We are going to release an article about version change tool at the end of 2024. If any problems occur during version change, the technical support will help. We are ready to answer your questions on our Facebook-community or in the client area .
